Bloomwood Photography - Essex Photographers

A little bit about us...

You’ve probably already realised that choosing a wedding photographer is not an easy task! There’s a lot of things to think about, and it goes without saying how important it is to like the style of the photos and the way they are edited. But your photographer also spends a lot of time around you and your guests on the wedding day – so it’s really important you choose a wedding photographer you feel comfortable around.

We’re Emma and Ross… we’ve been lucky enough to photograph hundreds of weddings over the last 10 years.  We always try and spend time getting to know our couples before their wedding day, but here’s just a bit about us to help you decide if we’re the people for you…

We’ve known each other since we were at school and lived in the same village growing up, but we didn’t get together as a couple until a chance meeting nearly 15 years later! We’re now married, have a teenage son Henry (who’s considerably taller than both of us), along with our dog – a Yorkipoo called Betsie!

We started Bloomwood Photography back in 2012.  We often get asked where the name ‘Bloomwood’ came from.  At the time, Emma was reading the book ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ and the lead character is ‘Rebecca Bloomwood’ – we just liked the name, and so that’s where it came from!  We originally ran a photography studio, but over the last 9 years we’ve focussed just on weddings.

Membership and Qualifications

We continually train to develop our skills and upgrade to the latest equipment.  We are members of the SWPP (Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographer) and Emma is a qualified member of The Guild of Photographers.  But just as importantly, we work with and share knowledge amongst a network of other wedding photographers to keep our approach fresh and up to date.

Awards

We’ve had our work featured in a number of wedding magazines and online publications over the years and we have won a number of awards over recent years, not only for the photography itself, but also based upon customer feedback.  We really value the recognition we get as wedding photography is a very competitive industry, and to stand out and be acknowledged is really rewarding.
